Calvin Yu named San Francisco Bay University’s new chief financial officer

Calvin Yu, an experienced finance and administration executive, has been named chief financial officer for San Francisco Bay University. Having served as the vice president of finance and administration at Bakersfield College, he will join SFBU in June. 

He has an extensive background in financial planning, operations and strategic leadership. In addition to $214 million annual operating budget at Bakersfield College, his career includes leading business operations at Georgia Tech and overseeing international programs at Yale University. A US Army veteran with an MBA from Columbia University, Yu emphasizes a people-centered approach, prioritizing student success, faculty support and staff development. 

His technical expertise includes ERP implementation, data analytics and process improvement, all underpinned by a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Calvin's vision for the CFO role at SFBU centers on fostering financial vitality, enhancing educational experiences and driving institutional excellence through collaborative and innovative leadership.

Yu holds an MBA from Columbia University, an MS in applied statistics from Kennesaw State University and a BS and MS in international affairs from Georgia Tech.
