Our ingenious and outgoing alumna, Kasturi, has always dreamed of achieving great things. She thinks outside the box to make her journey in this world more meaningful and extraordinary. Besides her interest in health, fashion, and photography, she has traveled to almost 30 countries so far, explaining, "I love to travel around the world to meet new people and experience different cultures."

Kasturi completed her computer science degree in India. Twelve years ago, she came to the United States and decided to pursue another master's degree. She was motivated to select SFBU because of its excellent curriculum structure: "The MBA program at SFBU best suited my ambition and goals of creating a business or becoming an entrepreneur in the U.S."

"The mind is like a parachute; it works only when it’s open, so keep an open mind and think outside the box. Follow your dream while fulfilling your daily responsibilities."

During her studies at SFBU, she actively collaborated on the recycling project Champions of Earth. She fondly recalls, "Our team had a chance to speak with Alameda Waste Management, and we learned the process of recycling daily waste. It was a great experience to witness that."

Kasturi didn't try to get hired at a company, since her goal was always to be a businesswoman. Born and raised in a business family, she always wanted to create something on her own.

However, achieving her dream was not smooth sailing. She had the most significant challenges during her initial years in the United States. She had to adapt to the American lifestyle, in which people are used to working for someone else from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. But that's not her cup of tea. Further, being in the real estate field, she finds herself striving to fit into an industry that is stereotyped as a "man's world." Kasturi defines success as a journey, on which she'll keep traveling until she has reached her goals: "I wanted to create a huge empire for my family, which could generate passive income and allow me retirement at a young age."

Indeed, Kasturi has proven that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. She proudly shares that she's now a successful real estate investor, owning multiple properties across the United States, and explaining, "I owe my success to my father; he is my ultimate guru and biggest influencer. He taught me how to think like a business owner. I am also incredibly grateful to my husband and my brother for being the biggest supporters in my life."

She shares, "In the future, I would love to be on vacation every day of my life. I want to be financially free, and my lifestyle not to be restricted by finances."
