The policies on this website (also commonly referred to as Policy Library) are approved by university leadership and apply to the entire institution. Policies define and set a standard for organizational and individual conduct. They also set expectations and requirements for the administrative operations by providing a baseline to follow when conducting the business of the university. Policies ensure a consistent understanding and approach to practices across the university.
Different types of policies can apply at different levels of the university. Individual units may also develop policies and procedures to suit their unique needs and operations, provided they remain consistent with the Policy Library. Other policy documents include:
University Catalog: Includes SFBU policies governing undergraduate and graduate instruction as well as University academic requirements and degree requirements and procedures for grievances, requesting accommodation, and auxiliary aids.
Student Handbook: Includes SFBU policies governing co-curricular activities, Residence Life guidance, and code(s) of conduct.
Employee Handbook: A list of processes, policies, and procedures on topics important to SFBU’s workplace, including policies governing faculty.
The University Library applies to all employees, students, volunteers, and vendors at San Francisco Bay University. Some policies, however, are more relevant to certain groups. A particular policy, for example, may only apply to employees and not students. Exactly what policies apply to you depends on your individual university role and the specific activities associated with that role.
