All the business faculty members possess the following qualities: advanced degrees earned in business, computer science or mathematics disciplines, work experience relevant to their teaching subjects, and enthusiasm in teaching and helping the students. To increase the students’ learning effectiveness, they bring their real-world experience into the classrooms as well as use case studies to stimulate the students’ minds and exemplify various lecture topics.

Johnathan Mun

Johnathan Mun, Ph.D.

Professor and Chair of Business

Dr. Johnathan Mun is a Professor and Chair of the Business Department with 25 years of industry and academic experience. He has taught at the MBA, M.S., and Ph.D. levels in 10 countries and authored 30 books and 150 academic articles. Dr. Mun holds 13 patents, has consulted for over 50 multinational companies, created 10 software applications, and founded three companies. His research interests include financial analytics, quantitative methods, data science, economics, investment science, simulation, predictive modeling, AI/ML analytics, and optimization.

Cassondra Smith

Cassondra Smith

Professor of Business, Postdoctoral

Cassondra has a diverse background in Business Management, Marketing, Project Management, Supply Chain Management and Finance. Cassondra’s expertise includes Supply Chain management, Consumer Behavior, and Cost Accounting. Cassondra’s research interest focuses on consumerism, marketing analytics, consumer behavior, and the fiscal implications of misaligned U.S. apparel sizing standards. Cassondra has over 20 years of professional business experience and 15 years of instruction experience across primary and tertiary education.

Mitchell Gurick

Dr. Mitch Gurick is an Adjunct Faculty member at San Francisco Bay University, teaching Human Resource Management and "How to Design Your Life: A Journey Through Personal Epistemology." He holds a PhD in Global Leadership and Change from Pepperdine University. 

Stanislav Kelman

Stanislav is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience across various industries. He recently co-founded a company specializing in AI-powered automotive navigation. Stanislav has held key managerial roles in the Bay Area tech sector, including leading the Data Science function at Credit Karma and overseeing the Analytics department at Credit Sesame. Previously, he worked as an engineer at General Dynamics, managing thousands of guided rocket simulations. An avid traveler, Stanislav has driven across North America nine times.

Arshad Khan

Mr. Khan is an analytics professional and adjunct professor with over three decades of teaching experience at 10 universities. He has authored 21 books, including six on analytics and two on artificial intelligence. His expertise includes data visualization, dashboards, and data analysis. Michael Leinhos

Michael Leinhos has over 30 years of teaching experience, spanning from seventh grade to graduate school. Specializing in General Education, he also teaches in the School of Business and has been with SFBU since 2015. In addition to his teaching, Michael has served as Chair of the SFBU Faculty Assembly since its founding in 2018, having been elected by his peers for seven consecutive years. Dr. Tim Loomas is an Adjunct Professor of Business with over 20-years professional experience in Analytics across multiple industries. He has worked in financial services, advertising, technology, logistics, and higher education.

Shruthi Nadig

Shruthi Nadig is a seasoned business administration and human capital management professional with over 15 years of cross-functional experience in the technology, higher education, and non-profit sectors. Her expertise lies at the intersection of organizational development, enterprise HR operations, strategic workforce planning, and equity-centered change management.

Holden Reyes

Holden Reyes is the Associate Director for the Full-Time MBA Program Office at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley, where he leads Student Life and Leadership Development. With a background in business and project management, Holden transitioned to higher education, bringing over three years of teaching experience in Management and Business Law at institutions such as UC Berkeley Extension, Golden Gate University, Notre Dame de Namur University, and San Francisco Bay University.

Ahmad Shaar

Dr. Ahmad specializes in Knowledge Management, Business Intelligence, and Agile Project Management, with research registered at the US Library of Congress. His work has been presented at Harvard and won best poster at the MIT Museum. Dr. Ahmad has program-managed projects across Alphabet divisions, including Google, YouTube, Waymo, Fitbit, and Chrome. He has collaborated with major companies such as P&G, Intel, Stanford, eBay, Starbucks, Levi's, and McDonald's.
